Rubber and Urethane Trunnion Liners

Grinding mills are a crucial part of ore processing circuits. That's why mining operations across North America depend on Durex- Camline trunnion products and services to keep their mills running efficiently. Durex-Camline offers new solutions for mill maintenance. Instead of complete trunnion replacements that cost weeks of downtime, we deliver innovative solutions for quickly replacing trunnion components.   Our new and re-manufactured trunnions, lining systems, reconstructed fits, and emergency repair services are all designed to put your mill back into operation as soon as possible.

New Manufacture Trunnions

Durex-Camline Manufactured Trunnions: Out-Performing the HeavyWeights

The people who build rod and ball grinding mills think big. They have to. Mills run around the clock for weeks at a time, grinding thousands of tons of ore. So it's no wonder that mill manufacturers take a "think big" approach to trunnions. They typically build cast Meehanite trunnions—the true heavyweights of the mill business.

Durex-Camline manufactures trunnions with a different viewpoint: trunnion components will, eventually, wear down to the point that they have to be replaced. So we engineer and manufacture trunnions that make your mill maintenance as fast, easy, and inexpensive as possible.

Start with lead time: We take (on the average) just six weeks to manufacture a trunnion. Conventional cast Meehanite trunnions take 16 to 20 weeks or more because they're the product of a long foundry process. Durex-Camline trunnions are built from ASTM-4140 steel which actually makes them stronger and far lighter than cast iron trunnions. When it's time for change-out, our trunnions are easier and safer to install.

Durex-Camline trunnions make sense over the haul. To achieve longer wear life, we'll specify the lining material and design that's appropriate for your operation.

Our urethane and rubber linings and spirals, and steel tips, are designed for easy replacement. Unlike cast Meehanite trunnions, our trunnions can always be rebuilt.

So instead of thinking big, we think smart. Durex-Camline manufactured trunnions give you a long-term savings plan for future maintenance.

Reconstructed "Fit" Solutions

The Pivotal Component of Mill Operations

Grinding mill operations literally turn on the strength of trunnions. Trunnion journals at the feed and discharge ends of rod and ball mills support the weight and rotation of the mill heads and shell, plus the ore material, water, and grinding media (rods or balls) inside. Trunnions are also the feed and discharge ports of the mill. Material enters the mill through the feed end trunnion and ground material leaves through the discharge trunnion, usually into a trommel.

Trunnion liners are potential points in the mill circuit. Liners protect the inside of the trunnions from the abrasive action of the material slurry.

Worn liners can lead to erosion of the trunnions, mill head, and "fit" area. Unless the erosion is stopped, bearing failures and failure of the entire mill can result.

Durex-Camline has applied its expertise in linings and urethane materials technology to eliminate these critical trunnion problems. We manufacture new trunnions and re-build existing ones with replaceable liners and fits to make them a less costly, easier-to-manage maintenance item. They also give you a new solution for cost-saving mill maintenance in the future.
