Modular wire cloth masters clay and topsoil

Rupp Construction, Marshallville, Ohio, was forced to deal with a persistent overburden of clay and topsoil that resisted screening in Rupp's Dur-X-Snapdeck® rubber screens.
Our representative worked with Rupp General Manager, Ed Heischman in finding the solution, recommending Durex's newly-developed modular wire cloth.
"We originally recommended an entire deck of #240 self-cleaning rubber. When they noticed a lack of sufficient open area, we suggested the modular wire cloth using grade 20 oil-tempered wire at the discharge end of the bottom deck and 5/8" square #240 self-cleaning rubber on the rest of the Dur-X-Snapdeck® system." Stated the local Durex-Camline representative.
In the winter of 1997 Durex-Camline recommended an upgrade to stainless steel modular wire cloth to overcome the problem caused by blinding over by wet material.
Durex-Camline and Rupp management believe that modular stainless steel screens are reducing blinding and are wearing even longer than expected.
The Durex-Camline evaluation... "We're fine tuning the recommendations at this time, but it looks like we will end up with modular stainless steel wire cloth to reduce the blinding problem in combination with the self-cleaning rubber screens."

Arizona copper mine uses Dur-X-Snapdeck® to increase production and reduce maintenance
Cyprus Bagdad, a copper ooperation in Arizona, used side-tension rubber screens in its facilities until 1994, when increased production and the need to reduce maintenance time made a change necessary. How much increased production? Previously Cyprus Bagdad ran 40,000 tons per day, every day of the year. Today the plant runs more than 85,000 tons per day.
When management rated all modular systems on efficiency and maintenance in 1994, they selected the Dur-X-Snapdeck® screen system and a new screen box manufacturer.
Cyprus Bagdad began reviewing Durex-Camline screen media and the Dur-X-Snapdeck® system with one test in an abrasive, wet operation.
Due to the success of this first test, the company installed six more decks of Dur-X-Snapdeck® rubber for its durability to reduce plugging. The company has installed heavy duty 60 durometer rubber on the top decks.
Results: Cyprus Bagdad conducts ongoing tests of all its system and Durex-Camline remains the operation's primary system and screen media supplier.
